cycles of twelve

We humans love to group things, and if we can assign a number value to that collection, even better. There are basically three categories into which all numbered groups fall: arbitrary, functional, and actual.

Arbitrary sets are totally artificial, at least on the surface. They include things like seven days in a week and 24 hours in a day. They exhibit no natural arrangement.

Functional sets are sets that do exhibit some natural arrangement, but the definition that separates the elements are at least partially arbitrary, such as days in a year. There is an average of 365.2425 days per year, depending on the measuring system, but the Gregorian calendar funtionalizes this to 365 days with a leap year of 366 day every four years, with another adjustment every 400 years (no extra day).

Actual sets have elements that are an exact number. For instance, there are three primary colors. Quadrupeds have four feet, and humans generally have ten fingers and ten toes. There is a lot of symmetry in nature.

Mondusaif is a base twelve system. It orders things into duodecads (groups of twelve). There is a formula that governs this. One becomes two. Two begets three. Three varies into six, and six reflects to make twelve.

First you have a unit, is. Then you discover its opposite, is not, thus it becomes two. Then you take is and is not and combine them into a new thing to beget both. This is represented in the triad: father, mother, child.

Because the universe has a dyadic aspect, this triad varies into alternate is, alternate is not, and alternate both. It is almost the same, but different. An alternate triad might be: uncle, aunt, cousin. Thus, three varies into six as two sets of three. This new set of six becomes an is and since the dyadic universe requires an is not, the six reflects into twelve by becoming the inverse of the originals: antifather, antimother, antichild, antiuncle, antiaunt, and anticousin. Leptons, as currently known, follow this pattern perfectly (see below).

the twelve directions

Directions have two varieties, the physical and the ethereal. Together they form the twelve common directions.

The physical dimensions are what commonly referred to as 3D: length, width, and height. They allow an entity to move through physical space along any of the three axes. It can move forward or backward, left or right, and up or down.

The ethereal are commonly referred to as time, choice, and fate. Time permits movement forward (future) or backward (past). Choice permits movement left (action) or right (reaction), each creating an alternate reality. Fate determines another form of alternate reality by permitting movement up (order) or down (chaos).

notes

1. A group of twelve things is called a duodecad. The ordinal adjective is duodenary, twelfth. The adjective referring to a group consisting of twelve things is duodecuple.

2. Actually there are twelve dimensions and twenty-four directions, but the other six anti-dimensions are insignificant in mundane existence, insofar as a person is concerned in its daily existence.
